How illegal Train Passengers Killed Journalist in Lagos

 

Some illegal train passengers, who were hanging on a moving train at the Ikeja Along bus stop, Lagos have attacked two journalists, causing the death of one of them.
The miscreants had jumped off the train on Tuesday at about 9am and attacked the journalists.The miscreants were said to have accused the journalists of filming them with the intention of exposing their antics through their medium.
It was learnt that the pressmen had fled for their lives, but the attackers gave them a chase, causing one of the journalists to run into the path of an oncoming commercial bus.
He was said to have died while being taken to a hospital in the area.

Some officials of the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority at the bus stop also confirmed the death of the pressman, adding that illegal train passengers on moving trains usually mobbed whoever they suspected was filming them.

'Dead' woman heard screaming from inside coffin after being buried alive

Cemetery workers raced to a newly-dug grave after they heard banging and muffled shouting an hour after a 45-year-old woman was buried.

As they grabbed tools and anything they could find, they rushed to dig the grave up again after the woman woke up to find herself buried alive in a coffin.

But tragically, the un-named woman died before her would-be rescuers could reach her inside the plot at a cemetery near Greece’s Thessaloniki.

Now police are probing why the woman was pronounced dead by doctors treating her for cancer, only to be found alive.


Her grieving family arranged her funeral at the graveyard in Peraia, a small town 16 miles south of Thessaloniki, Greece’s main city in the north.

Outrage as Gay-friendly Mosque opens in South Africa

A Muslim academic has opened a gay-friendly mosque in South Africa, despite receiving death threats and fierce criticism from parts of the local Muslim community.Women will also be allowed to lead prayers at Taj Hargey's"Open Mosque" in Cape Town.



Mr Hargey, a professor at the Muslim Educational Centre of Oxford in the UK, told the BBC's Newsday programme it was time for a "religious revolution".
"We are opening the mosque for open-minded people, not closed-minded people.In South Africa 20 years ago, there was a peaceful revolution changing from apartheid to democracy and we need to have a similar development in the area of religion," he saidHe says the mosque will help counter growing Islamic radicalism. Mr Hargey, who was born in Cape Town, said the mosque would welcome people from all genders, religions and sexual orientations.

Man hangs himself live on Skype while online spectators watched

 

26 year old Russian man Serger Kirilov (pictured above) wanted to commit suicide and so he went on Skype and announced that he planned to commit suicide and said anyone who wanted to see it could link to him on Skype.

Shockingly, many people linked up to him and watched him hang himself without trying to stop him. One spectator even allegedly said 'a real man would have killed himself more quickly.' Another said 'If a man says he's going to do something, he needs to do it.' Only one person tried to stop him.


Russian police are now trying to trace all the people who watched the suicide through their internet service providers. A Russian police spokesman said 'It is beyond belief that people could watch this as a form of entertainment. We will be investigating everyone who watched this incident, especially those who urged him to carry it out who may be guilty of negligent homicide.'

Pres. Jonathan lacks the experience to lead Nigeria- Atiku Abubakar says

 

Former Vice President and APC presidential aspirant Atiku Abubakar said in an interview with AFP today that President Jonathan lacks the experience to lead Nigeria, saying it's the reason Boko Haram activities has been on the increase.

"This insurgency shouldn’t have lasted even six months. Within weeks, we (Obasanjo and I) crushed it because we did not neglect military training and, of course, we did not lack the leadership and the capacity to take decisions. I told Nigerians that he [Jonathan] did not have the capacity; he didn’t have the experience. He didn’t have anything and yet they gave him the chance, the opportunity. And they can now see the chance and the opportunity they gave him. Of course, I’m more experienced than he is. I believe my capacity cannot be compared with his, in all respect.” he said

As soldiers stood in line, 3 year old Cooper Waldvogel ignored the strict military protocol, ran up to the troops and into his mother's arms, who was so happy to scoop him up. Other soldiers tried to keep straight faces because they'd been ordered not to interact with family members as they stood in line, but they later said it was the most adorable thing they'd ever seen. The World's tallest dog has died just days before his 6th birthday. Zeus was 3ft 6 inches tall at the shoulder and when he stood on his back legs was an incredible 7ft 4in high. He weighed 11 stone.

The giant Great Dane, who was named the world's tallest living dog in the 2012 Guinness World Records, died on September 3rd. He lived in Michigan, US, with his owners before his passing. see video here...

Shocking photos: Liberian woman found hanging in Lagos

 

 The woman found hanging from the tree in the early hours of today September 12th on Bankole Street, Isheri-Oke, Lagos has been identified as a Liberian woman simply called Kate.


According to Punch, the woman was a worker in a sachet water factory before she killed herself. A resident of the area said people in the area started to distance themselves from her after the outbreak of Ebola in Lagos which was brought into the country by a Liberian. They also started avoiding her because of her ill health, a situation believed to have frustrated her enough to commit suicide.
"We see her in this neighbourhood every day. I used to see her every day in the dress she died in.She always looked sick but people stopped selling to her after the Ebola outbreak. It could be because she was Liberian and looked sickly. This might have frustrated her.”

A team of psychologists and medical doctors at the Technische Universität of Berlin, have announced that they had proven by clinical experimentation, the existence of some form of life after death.


According to worldnewsdailyreport.com ,they used a new type of medically supervised near-death experiences, that allow patients to be clinically dead for almost 20 minutes before being brought back to life.This controversial process that was repeated on 944 volunteers over the last four years.

So far, Ebola is spread via contact with body fluids of a sick carrier.But, according to an article written for theNew York Times by Michael Osterholm, the director of the Center for Infectious Disease Research and Policy a the University of Minnesota,there is a real risk of Ebola becoming an airborne disease.

You can now get Ebola only through direct contact with bodily fluids. A 75-year-old female Dutch national, Jeanet De Jonge, has lost €200,000 to a 31-year-old Nigerian, Michael Adio in a romance scam.It was gathered that Adio, who had been arrested by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, pretended to be an American citizen, making it easy for Jonge to fall for him.

The EFCC, which described Adio as a confidence trickster, revealed that the man was an indigene of the Owu area of Ogun State.

Explaining how the suspect, perpetrated the act, the EFCC spokesman, Wilson Uwujaren, said the victim and thesuspect met on a dating site and started a relationship.

Update: Unreponsive U.S plane in Cuban airspace crashes off Jamaica

 

A 7-seat private plane that took off from Rochester, New York this morning and heading to Staples, Florida, is currently flying over Cuban airspace with the plane occupants not responding to attempts to communicate.

CNN reports that two fighter jets trailed the plane, which is a Socata TBM-700 light business and utility aircraft, but stopped when it crossed over into Cuban territory.

Spokesman for the North American Aerospace Defense Command said the plane's windows were frosted and it is unclear how much fuel is left. The plane is said to have been flying unresponsive for some time.

NORAD has reached out to Cuban authorities and now Cuban fighter jets are trailing the small plane which took off from NY about five hours ago. Cuba is currently not looking at the plane as a threat.
