Robbers raid 8 streets in Lagos for 7hrs,rape women,Vandalize 30 cars

 

According to Punch,There were fears and tension in the Mushin area of Lagos State on Monday morning after about 60 robbers operated on no fewer than eight streets and destroyed about 30 vehicles.

Some residents told our correspondent that the robbers also raped some young ladies and operated unchallenged for about seven hours.

The hoodlums, who reportedly belonged to two cult groups – Akala boys and Toheeb’s gang – ravaged New Balogun, Euba, Ayonuga, Tiamiyu, Haruna, Ereko, Oyedele streets and Coker Lane.



A mosque on Coker Lane was not spared as the worshippers, who slept in the mosque after a vigil, were robbed by the hoodlums.

One of the people in the mosque told PUNCH Metro that the robbers fired bullets for over one hour before robbing from house-to-house.

Nigerian Students studying in Malaysia have written an open letter to President Jonathan seeking his intervention in what they described as the continued injustice meted on them by the Malaysian police authorities.

The students under the aegis, National Association of Nigerian Students Asia, in their letter which was signed by the President of the association, Prince David O.C Nwaogwugwu, cataloged cases of undue police harassment faced by some Nigerian students and also accused the Nigerian Consulate staff in Malaysian of being non-nonchalant towards the harassment and victimization they have faced in recent times. A regular visitor to the home of Mr Selekeowei Olokumo, in Yenagoa, Bayelsa State, Nigeria’s South-South region, would probably have noticed a small make shift building directly opposite his one bedroom apartment which could easily be mistaken for a generator cage.

To think it is a place where he stores his old and worn out property would not be out of place, as it was haphazardly built with wood and carton on what could be seen as a semi refuse dump site.

It was a feeling of shock when Channels Television realised that it was not for keeping his generator or other items but where his 16-year old daughter, Blessing Olokumo, had called home for almost three years.

According to part of a suicide note found in his wallet, 52 year old Kang Min-Gyu wrote

Perhaps I can become a teacher for the missing students in my next life.'I will once again become a teacher in the afterlife for my students whose bodies have not been discovered.'"

Mr Kang who killed him self 2 days after he managed to escape the sinking ship with 75 students has been cremated and his ashes scattered as requested..Meanwhile, the captain of the ship has been arrested for escaping the sinking ship leaving over 300 people on board.The Telegraph reports that he was in his bedroom sleeping and handed the ship to a 25 year old novice to steer..The 25 year old had never plyed the dangerous terrain before..75 students were rescued, 14 died and another 236 remain trapped inside the submerged ship..

Shocked Doctors find 12 gold bars inside businessman during operation

 

A 63-year-old businessman shocked doctors after finding 12 gold bars inside his stomach during an operation.The Indian man was being admitted into a hospital due to vomiting after he said he had swallowed a cap from a water bottle and wanted it removed from his body.After complaining of pain and vomiting, he was operated upon and 12 gold bars, each weighing 33g were discovered in his stomach rather than a bottle cap.

Senior consulting surgeon at Sir Ganga Ram Hospital in Dehli Dr C S Ramachandran told the Indian Express:

'He approached us on April 7 seeking surgery to remove a water bottle cap which he claimed he had accidentally swallowed.We got an X-ray done and it didn’t appear to be a cap. As the gold bars got stacked one behind the other it appeared to be a metal. We were shocked to find not one but 12 gold biscuits in his abdomen.If it would have stayed inside for couple of more days, it would have led to severe bleeding and rupture of the intestine and septicemia.'

Customs officials have questioned the man and the gold has been confiscated.
